Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! This year marks my second year of being "green" and sending our Christmas letter via the blogger! Fun! And I guess I don't have to share the entire year as..... you can refer back to previous blogs to get an update. Even better! Well, guess that's all I need to share. Just kidding! On Thanksgiving, we travelled to Waupun, Wisconsin to share the day with Grandma Susan and Great Grandpa Irv at my Aunt Kathy's home. The boys missed their nap and were a tad hyper, so Kris and I became creative and alternated shifts between who could visit or eat and who was entertaining the boys. Thank goodness for the mild weather as we were IN/OUT of their house constantly throughout the afternoon. The boys were able to play with their cousins as you can see below!
Amanda was finally able to meet her new niece, Meghan (Brian's daughter) and spend time with her mom, Susan. Susan had recently been released from a nursing home (after almost 3 1/2 months) of rehab and IV antibiotics for a recurrent brain abscess. She is doing well and back home!
Joy and Paul (Kris' sister and brother in law) visited us after Thanksgiving. They enjoyed spending time with the boys and getting a taste of twin madness! Early morning awakenings! Lots of noise! Two busy bodies constantly in motion! Just to name a few..... Nathan enjoying some quiet play time alone......SHHHH
Ryan enjoying a Sunday painting day!
Cupboards for storing pots and pans?? No--they are hiding spots! Tupperware all over the kitchen, pots and pans fun for noise makers, silverware drawer emptied around the house, and mom's cooking utensils in the garbage. Why not?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ryan (2 1/2) is our Mr Cuddler. He loves to read books, o-r-g-a-n-i-z-e, play with trucks and cars, color, and enjoy the outdoors. Ryan is our chatter--he will tell you what is on his mind and tries to keep his brother in line as well. "Nathan, NO--stop that!" He is Momma's little boy :) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nathan (2 1/2) is out Explorer. He is a hand's on kind of a guy taking things apart and trying to figure them out. He is so beyond his years! Nathan is always on the move and keeps you on your toes as he enjoys to push his limits! He is Daddy's little boy :) If Dad is home--he can't remember who his mom is...unless he is sick. He loves to go to the hardware store with his dad. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kris enjoys keeping a very full schedule. He is almost done with his Project Management Master's Degree from UW Platteville. Amen! He continues to serve as Company Commander for the Beaver Dam Army Reserves Unit and work full time for Recover Care as District Operations Manager. I believe he has been on an airplane just shy of 100 flights, if that gives you an idea of his travelling.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Amanda tries to keep up, working full time with the UW Hospital as the Nurse Practitioner lead for the Geriatrics Transitional Care pilot program. Full time is more like an easy week as many weeks have required 60-70 hour work weeks in addition to two busy twins and a travelling husband. The program has been extremely successful and will soon be spreading throughout the hospital as an entire department! Many staff will be added over the upcoming months and years. Amanda tries to squeeze in running and lifting weights first thing in the morning or late at night to get some time to herself! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2012 has come and is almost gone! We are very blessed to have such wonderful friends and family in our lives Feel free to stop by or give us a jingle if you are in the area. We would love to see you! Love, Kristofer, Amanda, Nathan, and Ryan

November 12, 2012: Hello and Happy Fall! At the urging or shall we say nagging husband, I have decided to re-open this cobb webbed blog of mine! Okay, I did miss it too! I will be real honest here... I'm not going to fill in the blanks of all of the months I've missed. Let's start with now! Fall has been so good to us. We didn't make it to a pumpkin patch, but we did enjoy the loads of leaves in our backyard and parks near our home.
The boys helped dad rake and bag up the numerous bags of leaves. They also enjoyed following along him with their toy lawnmowers while he mowed the lawn. Quite a sight to see :)
My mom has been recovering in a nursing home for several months now due to a recurrent brain abscess; we took a Saturday to pick her up and go and visit with the boy's Great Grandpa in Waupun. A day on the farm was great exploring as the boys helped to gather pumpkins and were able to check out the John Deere tractors asnd other miscellaneous farm equipment!
As we were running out of "toys" that interested the boys...we decided on a train set. It worked well the first couple of days occupying the boys. We are currently in a train freeze right now as Ryan and Nathan decided to become destructive one afternoon and pull it all apart. Needless to say, they can take some time off from getting to play with it again. Sorry! Other common happenings around here are books and more books from the iron fist--Mom! Crafts or coloring are always a part of our weekend routine as well. We have TONS of artwork if anyone would like some samples??!!!
Ah... Mr Ryan. He is our little perfectionist. Cars (are always in a straight line), cookies (always lined up). Don't mess with his choice of shirt or pants for the day either. He is quite the determined one with what he like and doesn't. I wonder where he gets that from?
Our little garden gnomes! What a fun Halloween this year. Our wonderful neighbor, Trish helped me with the boys around the neighborhood. The boys loved running house to house and actually consumed their first...yes lollipop and other assorted candy! (Okay, so I'm not big on kids and candy). Ryan enjoyed helping me give out candy. He would grab a piece to give to the trick or treater and grab oh... two to three pieces to add back to his container. Kind of funny to watch. Nathan was busy hiding under the cabinets in the kitchen hiding with his candy.... Hope you and yours had an excellent Halloween as well!! Please leave a comment or two so I know people are reading this!!

JUNE!!

Whoah there!! I looked back to my last post and it was Easter!! Yikes, I am wayyyy behind here!! So much to cover and so little time as I attempt to fit it all in at 10PM at night! Am I nuts or what! May brought the boys' 2nd birthday! Hooray! They are becoming such little men!! We had a quiet birthday at home with Mom and Dad and some yummy chocolate cake! The boys opening up some gifts with their cousins....and wrestling with them too!! Ryan loving the slides! Daddy and the boys celebrating their birthday for a second time with family up at the cottage in Wautoma, WI. And............. in between all of this other fun, we made a trip to the CITIES to see Great Grandpa John and Great Grandma Joan. Dad ran a Tough Mudder completing 12 grueling miles of obstacle course with friends while Mom went to Como Zoo with John and Joan. We had a blast! Now that it's summer (or close to) we are loving the outdoors! Pool time in the backyard, lots of truck time out front. Of course, the boys are so quick, we are frequently chasing after them in the street. They can high- tail down the road in no time. We also have to be careful of Mr Nathan in the fact that he is very able in opening doors and likes to run outside when we aren't looking. Lots of checks and double checks on the doors!! I am always trying to keep them busy and entertained when I am home. Our new thing is to take bike rides around town as everything is so close. It's easier for me to pop them into their Hurley bike carrier and zip off, than the truck. They seem to love it too. Pulling 60+ pounds of weight will help me keep my figure too of course!! My goal is to get them to every city park in Sun Prairie... and yes, there is alot of them! So, future plans for us in the month of June include a few work picnics, pool time, time up at the lake/cottage, more bikerides, Farmer's Markets, parks, and time with family. Hope to see you soon!

Spring has definitely sprung!!

April 24, 2012: My apologies for falling behind in updating this blog. This month has been absolutely crazy!!! I will bring you up to speed on our lives. We recently packed, moved, and unpacked into our NEW HOME!! We love it and are so happy to have a place of our own. The previous owners had a "green thumb" and left us with an amazing flower garden out back. It is awesome to say the least!! In between moving and Easter, I helped plan and host 2 baby showers. Yes, my life was nuts for a while there! But, Easter came and it was a joy to see the boys involved with the activities! They were extra lucky this year in being able to participate in two Easter egg hunts. One at our home Easter morning and one at my Aunt Kathy's house in Waupun. Lots of treats and new toys! Nathan finding his basket!
Easter egg hunt!!
We were very blessed to have Nana Bev here from Colorado to help watch the boys while we unpacked and transitioned to our new home. She went to the Madison Childrens Museum with the boys.
And of course our new beautiful back yard. Can you believe that I haven't even taken a picture of the front of our house yet? HA!
Ryan taking the lead on the lawn mower!
Of course I have to leave you with a picture to smile!! More pictures to come :)

Oh Happy March!

March 25, 2012
Oh March! How lucky we have been to have some "wonderfully warm" weather!! We have shooed the boys outside to burn up that energy! And....it's been quite delightful!

The boys absolutely love the park. There is a "toddler size" section of a playground in Sun Prairie that suits them well. No need for mom and dad to chase them around worrying they are going to fall down off equipment. They were able to freely go up and down and under as many times as possible before those "batteries wore out."

Ryan playing..

Ryan absolutely loves slides. He hurries to climb up, goes down, and does it all over again as many times as possible!

Nathan getting the "go" from Ryan.

Ooh.. Something small i can climb through"-Nathan.

The boys have been doing great at daycare. Friday I went to pick them up and they actually both starting crying that they had to leave. :( But, good for them that they are enjoying their new friends and activities! I think it is a good balance to have them there 2 days a week and home the other three.

At the Madison Zoo... looking for that otter!

Ryan wanted the wholeee bench for himself!

Looking for those giraffes!

Finally a family shot!

We will be moving April 13th.......to our new home! Yea!! We bought a house! Lots of work to get us there, but, I think we are so excited to get settled in--we don't care! So...this means no more moving! HA! I think we've moved plenty in the past few years. I can count 5 states and 6 moves(this makes 7) Kris and I have been together over the past 8 years! Whew! We are counting down the days....

Have a happy rest of March!
