March 3, 2012:
March already.. that means Spring is almost here!! We haven't done that much lately other than the usual work and more work. The boys go to Play and Learn every Tuesday at a local church to mingle with other kids and do activities, sing songs, and play! They also go the Childrens Museum in Madison about once a week. They are now 22 months and very very busy--did I say busy! Kris will be entering his third week with travelling for work which means I am chasing two little curious and highly energized boys around the house when I'm not working..
Here is an example of a typical day. I get up at 0545 every weekday morning and have a few minutes to wake up until I hear chattering or screaming. So, rush to find some business clothes, hair, makeup. Then the boys and I have morning hugs and get dressed time. Rush for breakfast--as always they are starving like they haven't eaten in years, to run around time thereafter while I prepare some coffee and my lunch for work. The nanny arrives around 0730 and off to work I go. I rush home (as Madison traffic isn't bad, but hitting a stoplight every 100-200 feet is rather annoying). Ok.. maybe it's longer than that. Anyways, home by 5ish and we play. I try to get them outside to run around as they are all fired up when I get home. Around 530ish I start to prepare supper. This means one little boy will open kitchen drawers and start running off with cooking utensils. Then the other one jumps in and he too has to find a utensil or what I view as a weapon as I KNOW they will soon be hitting each other with them. So, while food is cooking, I am chasing them around and also trying to hide their large cardboard blocks in which they use as stepping stools to climb on the kitchen chairs and you guessed it--the table! Oh, how they think it's so much fun to sit or stand on the table and turn the light switch next to it off and on about 50 million times in a row. I can honestly go to my bedroom to grab something and they are so quick, they are already up on the table using a block, or some other toy they are able to step on, as a stool to get on the table. It is rather impressive, but for me it can be rather stressful and tiring. I guess I get my exercise in you could say and fall asleep quite easily at night....Some nights bedtime does not come fast enough :)
Nathan--CAUGHT! With Kitchen utensil #1. Also--both boys are obsessed with shoes right now!
Nathan--if he's not jumping up and down in his crib, he's "hanging out."
Ryan--in daddy's shoes
Nathan--always wanting to be naked..
Ryan helping daddy build their new kitchen station..
Some changes are coming for the boys. We will be starting them into a highly structured daycare on Mondays and Fridays starting March 16th. We will still have Cheri, our nanny, Tuesday thru Thursday. She is going back to school on those days and we had to act quickly to find a replacement on the days she is unavailable. So, we believe this is the right choice for the boys at this time. We will see how things progress....
Hope all is well. We would love to see some family soon!!
